We had visited Paris decades ago for just a few days and did all the usual touristy things. We equated visiting Paris with seeing France, but we were so mistaken. This time, we enjoyed a much slower pace, walking from Switzerland through western and northern France through the Jura Mountains and the Doubs River Valley to the Calais on the North Sea. We explored cities, wandered through villages and enjoyed our travels on foot for 40 awesome days in the world’s most visited country.
