Home to the most UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the world (54), Italy is the 5th most visited country in the world. It’s a vast open-air museum that begs to be explored, adored and tasted.

We’d never been in Italy before our walk on the Via Francigena pilgrimage route in 2019. We had the opportunity to visit some of the country’s finest cities, as well as walk through towns, villages and the ever-changing Italian countryside. Come with us to explore and perhaps join us for a leg or two of the Via Francigena, too.
