US-2, also known as the High Road is arguably the most diverse and stunning of the great transcontinental road trips. The route starts in the state of Washington and ends in Maine. It will take us over the Cascade Range across the Great Plains, through the Great Northwoods, Michigan’s UP (Upper Peninsula where David’s mom was born), across the border into Canada, through Ottawa and Montreal, then back into the States near Lake Champlain, over the Green Mountains and the White Mountains. We’ll take a short side trip to Acadia National Park, then finally end our odyssey in Houlton, Maine, the official eastern terminus of US-2.

There are large stretches of nothing and several stretches of lots of something. We’ll explore and discover as we go. C’mon along…
