In the spirit of relaxation, we decided to take the day off from our list of projects and celebrate the New Year. We decided to celebrate at Las Vegas’ Chinatown Plaza. It was cold and clear and there was a brisk breeze as we headed to Spring Mountain Road and the Chinatown area of Las Vegas.
Read MoreSince it was a short riding day, an afternoon diversion was in order. Dayton Aviation Heritage NHP, operated by the National Park Service, seemed a perfect place to spend a few hours. The Wright Brothers operated a bicycle shop and a print shop at the park’s location and it was here in Dayton that most of the development of their first airplane was conceived and conducted.
Read MoreWe had passed Ariel Foundation Park on the way to Mount Liberty, but hadn’t stopped to explore. On our return ride we decided to divert a bit and check it out. The park is an old PPG (Pittsburgh Plate Glass) factory facility closed in 1976 and recently repurposed into an open air museum of sorts.
