We’d never visited Truth or Consequences (T or C to locals), New Mexico in the past, but it was on the way as we headed south from Albuquerque plus the town is adjacent to Elephant Butte Lake State Park where we camped… and, it had a Walmart SuperCenter. So it was only natural we’d stop and check it out. Plus just the town’s name makes you curious, doesn’t it?

We’ve been traveling and camping with Blanche for about three weeks now and are getting a pretty good feel for what we like about Blanche as well as some of the things we thought we’d like to improve. It’s good to do this. I have a tendency to over design things and I fear that if left on my own, Blanche would have many features I thought we needed, but didn’t, and only room enough inside for one very skinny person at a time.

Every place we stop we find there’s always something new to learn and Pecos didn’t disappoint. Pecos is home to the world’s first rodeo, educated us about female WWII pilots (heretofore never heard of), and glorified Pecos Bill, a bigger-than-life folk hero.
