30 Years & Counting ...

We interrupt our regularly scheduled programming to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary.

30 Years and Counting ...

30 Years and Counting ...

Lin was visiting from Boston and we drove down to Virginia Beach for the day, arriving early to insure a good parking place. We walked and walked and walked and walked along the Boardwalk and Atlantic Avenue taking in all the sights, sounds and smells of a crowded beach on a hot summer's day. It was fun and nostalgic as we reminisced about summer days past ...  the smells of cotton candy and fried dough, children squealing as a cold wave licked their toes, kids burying each other in sand. We wove our way through a rainbow of brightly colored cabanas and umbrellas over the hot beach sand to dip our weary feet in the Atlantic.

Enough fun ... it was time to get down to business. We were renewing our vows here in Virginia Beach and needed to get to it. The officiant, a rather formal dolphin, was most obliging.

The dolphin officiated; Lin was matron of honor and a plush turtle was best man.

Neon rings were exchanged ... we spared no expense.

The reception festivities began at the local arcade where the happy wedding party played several rousing games of Skee Ball.

The reception dinner was held at Catch 31 at the Hilton on the Virginia Beach Boardwalk. After a multitude of raw oysters were consumed ((planning ahead for the honeymoon) , mimosas and brunch were served. King Neptune, to whom we have given a multitude of toasts, was not available, but Kid Neptune stopped by to give us his regards.

Life's an adventure and this continues to be the best one of all.

Stay tuned for the continuing saga of From There to Here ... resuming later this week.
