Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta - Special Shapes & More

Hyla the Frog checks out the crowds

We returned to the Balloon Fiesta for the weekend and we enjoyed it just as much as the first time, despite the bitter cold. We weren’t able to hitch any more free balloon rides and our efforts to join a chase crew weren’t successful, but the crowd-pleasing special shape balloons really caught our attention. Take a look at just a sampling of what we saw. Enlarge them for a closer look by clicking on the thumbnail.

Some of the balloon crews really took their themes to heart!

And some of the balloons were pretty astonishing!

Wandering around in between the balloons was awesome. Some were inflating; some just taking off. The launch officials known as zebras, took their jobs and uniforms very seriously.

The crew of Synchronicity was very interesting… the pilot, the riders and balloon mascot.

The 2019 Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta came to an end last weekend, but we’re still in Albuquerque for a few days. Though the Balloon Fiesta was absolutely awesome, we haven’t finished exploring Albuquerque and the Santa Fe area. Join us next time for a fun tour of Los Alamos and Santa Fe.
