A Blog About Nothing
/
Remember when Seinfeld first came on the scene? It was described as “a show about nothing”. Well, that’s what I’m writing about today… pretty much nothing. We’re suffering from the mask-wearing, pandemic-fatiguing, can’t go anywhere Winter Doldrums. I haven’t blogged since mid-December and I still don’t have much to talk about, mostly because… well, we’re not doing much of interest and there’s not much to share.
We did sell Blue, of course… not earth-shattering news, but something of interest. We did buy a new vehicle and we’re working on a new travel plan, but none of that seems all that interesting at this point. I want to be on the road and having adventures. I don’t want to be sitting behind my desk pounding on my computer keys, updating old website pages, trying to figure out something stimulating to keep me amused. I’ve read; I’ve watched more movies and television in the past few months than I have in the past 20 years; we walk each morning; we cook, we eat, we clean, we do chores, we go to the grocery store or for a real treat, to Lowe’s or Home Depot. At least we can get outside sometimes. We have two elderly friends in an assisted living facility who have been quarantined to their building since last March. Yikes!
The good news? There seems to be light at the end of the tunnel. We received our first Covid vaccine shots and the second is scheduled later this week. We were anxious to begin 2021 and here it is February already and we feel like we’re in a holding pattern. Is there ever going to be normal again? There is so much talk of the ‘new normal’ and honestly, I’m not sure what that is going to look like. Luckily, we humans are adaptable creatures and we’re all figuring out how to cope.
