Best of Our Summer/Fall 2022 Road Trip

David provided a map of our 15,343-mile road trip this past summer, but I prefer to think of the trip in terms of experiences and images. He’s the analytical engineer; I’m the non-statistical romantic, looking for beauty, uniqueness, or sometimes absurdity wherever we travel. As always, we were amazed and sometimes overwhelmed by the beauty, majesty, vastness, and diversity of the USA.

A 10th Birthday and Hello, Indiana

The Cardinal Greenway is Indiana’s longest rail-trail and extends about 62 miles from Richmond to Marion with a gap at Gaston. According to the Rail-Trails guidebook, the trail follows “along the former CSX railroad corridor… [taking] its name from the Cardinal, the passenger train that once ran the route.”

Just a Little Further

Hi there and welcome to Just A Little Further!

We are David and Marcie Lynn and we've lived aboard our Liberty 458 cutter-rigged sailboat since 2000.

What began as an urge to travel slowly and economically at our own pace ended up an adventure of a lifetime.

Well, here we are ... nearly 90,000 miles under the keel, 5 continents, 5 Great Southern Capes, 36 countries and almost two decades later, still taking one passage at a time and going just a little further.
