Just before sunrise, we headed to the Athabasca Glacier to walk the 1-mile Toe of the Athabasca Glacier Trail. It was 27F (-3C) when we headed out and we bundled up to brave the morning cold. It was a steep, short-of-breath climb up a gravel and rock trail, but worth the effort.
