For years, with only Nine of Cups as “home”, we stayed with friends and family when we traveled on land in the USA. We referred to these trips as our “mooch tours”. Now that we have a house and a guest room, we’re beginning to welcome guests into ‘our’ home for a change.

When we bought our Las Vegas house, it came with an old, leaking spa/hot tub which we removed, leaving an even uglier, barren cement pad. After wincing every time we looked at it during the past two years, we all finally agreed on a deck plan, and my brother Paul and I set to work. The project took waaaaay longer than expected (what else is new?) but we all like the result.
