 Spring Has Sprung in Las Vegas

About three years ago, we acquired a Judy Garland rose bush. We thought Judy was a goner several times. She had been overtaken by the lantana in our absence and probably didn’t get enough water. I pruned her back in January and David increased the water drip a bit to see how she’d do. I’m pleased to report this is the first year Judy is thriving and she’s just produced her very first rose.

 A Weekend of Bugs

Spurned by the ladybugs, we opted to head to Springs Preserve on Sunday. In the middle of the Mojave Desert, the Springs Preserve area was an oasis for early travelers. Las Vegas translated from Spanish is ‘the meadows’ and Springs Preserve is now 180 acres of trails, museums and botanical gardens about three miles from the Las Vegas Strip owned and operated by the Las Vegas Valley Water District. It’s an awesome place.
