Blue View – Driving On the Wrong Side

Now that we are in England, we need to relearn the art of surviving as a pedestrian in a country that drives on the wrong side of the road. Our penchant, of course, is to look to the left as we step off the curb, forgetting that in the UK as well as most of the former British colonies, the traffic comes from the other direction. In past adventures, we've had a few near misses with doubledecker buses and taxis before we got into the swing of things. Hopefully, we'll survive long enough to get into the habit of looking the other way.

Blue View – Kitting Up For the Thames Path

We've been giving a great deal of thought to the gear, clothing, personal items and electronics we'll need for our month in England. Since we'll have to carry everything we need for the entire month on our backs, we're only bringing the bare essentials. On the other hand, we don't want to forget anything important. First, and most importantly, everything must physically fit into our backpacks. Once that is accomplished, our goal is to keep our loads to under 20 pounds.

Blue View – Part 2: The World's Greatest Hikes (Doable by Marcie and David)

Last week, we talked about the great hikes of North America. This week, the blog continues with the great hikes in the rest of the world. There are many more gorgeous trails around the world than the ones I've listed, of course. Many trails were eliminated because they didn't meet my arbitrary criteria of what constitutes a 'Great Hike'. Others were crossed off because there is no way we could actually complete them.
